Hard to believe it's been 3 years since I first laid eyes on this beauty I will soon call my wife! Here's the story as I see it . . . It was a dark and stormy night. Ok, just kidding (just wanted to see if you were paying attention). It was actually a fog shrouded night in San Francisco, and I was attending a rather boring party (sorry, Mike, but it really was boring!). That was, until she walked in. At that point, let's just say the party picked up a bit. Being shy myself and feeling a bit tongue tied I talked my friend, Joel into introducing me to her (you'll notice both Mike and Joel are in the wedding party - credit where credit is due). If Anna found me a bit uncouth for needing an intro from a friend she never showed it, so much so in fact that our one hour conversation turned into a date for the next week. And I even managed to ask her myself! It may sound cliche but one thing led to another and 3 years of dating led to that perfect day I asked Anna to be my wife. You may have figured out what she said by now. . . She said, "Yes!"

"Who's that?!" Yes, that was my first thought upon walking into that party. Thankfully, I didn't have to wonder for long since Joel was kind enough to introduce us (thanks, Joel). I certainly didn't care who introduced us since I soon found myself in a conversation with someone I really connected with. I could tell Kurt was quality right off the bat. And a good thing, too 'cause, Mike, that party really was boring! But maybe that was a good thing . . . it gave us the perfect time we needed to get to know each other well enough to know we wanted to get to know each other more. So thank you to you too, Mike! Now, where was I? Oh yes, we had that date the next week and the next and the next and the next. That pattern continued until it was a couple in a week and then a few and then spending most of our time together. We were both in graduate programs at SFSU - Kurt in the Executive MBA program and me in Public Health. Perhaps needless to say, our programs took an extra semester for each of us given that our time and attentions were a little divided. But we made it and we enjoyed it so much more with all the time we were able to spend with each other. But as soon as those graduation caps were thrown in the air Kurt was down on his knee proposing that we spend the rest of our lives together as man and wife. The best is yet to be!!! |
